Adrien Gauthier, Associate professor in Phytopathology and Mélanie Bressan, Associate Researcher in Microbial Ecology, Environmental Microbiology and Plant Pathology at UniLaSalle have co-authored an article on plant defense mechanisms, published in the scientific journal The Conversation.
"Every day, in their environment, plants face numerous aggressions.
There are usually two main categories of stress. If it is caused by living organisms such as insects, bacteria, fungi, viruses, etc., it is called "biotic" stress. If the stress is related to parameters of the surrounding environment, such as temperature, wind, or humidity for example, we speak of abiotic stress".
